"Set-On" Geotextile Pipeline Weight (GPW)
The "Set-On" Weight is an innovative product that incorporates the strengths of current geotextile pipeline weight products and overcomes some shortfalls to give the contractor the simplicity of the standby concrete Set-on.
Patent Pending in Canada and the USA
A step by step process

"Set-On" GPW's are designed to be filled in remote locations without the use of specially designed hoppers. Filling can take place on the right of way or where ever gravel can be dropped off.
For larger quantities it is recommended to fill at a local gravel source.
- Assemble filling stand
- Place piece of pipe onto filling stand
- Place 6 filling loops over hooks on filling stand and you're ready to fill

- 3 Buckets too fill 9000lb 36” Bag shown here
- No lifting of hopper over workers heads

- "Set-On" Weights are then carried by lifting straps to stockpile location.
- "Set-On" weight bags top enclosure is then sealed by pulling drawstring and tying knot.

- "Set-On" Weight bags are freestanding and stable for hauling
- No leaning is required and there is no chance of weights falling over when secured by belt fasteners

- Bags can be strung along pipeline with no leaning require
- Bags pick up without use of spreader bar
- Legs stay open for ease of installation onto pipe
- "Set-On" weights can be lowered into ditch and released without a person in the ditch
- Narrow profile keeps ditch width to a minimum

MATERIAL - "Set-On" GPW
The material utilized in the manufacture of our large weight bags is a breathable woven polypropylene. The FIBC industry (bulk bags) developed the material to transport dry agricultural products. This material, being breathable, adapts quite well for the bag weight business, where one critical factor is permittivity ability to let water in and out. Handling of the weights also requires a tough fabric to meet the demands on the right-of-way. Our double-walled bags meet the challenge. Lifting and loading slings are heavy-weave polypropylene. Material is treated for UV resistance.
